The fascinating world of amino acids

What are amino acids?
Amino acids are small molecules that contain both an amino group (NH2) and a carboxylic acid group (COOH). When these two groups are linked together, they form a peptide bond. Peptide bonds are what give proteins their structure.
There are 20 different amino acids that can be used to build proteins, and each one has a unique side chain. These side chains determine the function of the amino acid.

The different types of amino acids
There are three different types of amino acids: essential, non-essential, and conditionally essential. Essential amino acids cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained from food sources. Conditionally essential amino acids are only needed in large amounts during periods of stress or illness.
The essential amino acids must be supplied through the diet:
Arginine
Phenylalanine
Histidine
Isoleucine
Leucine
Lysine
Methionine
Threonine
Tryptophan
Valine
Non-essential amino acids can be produced by the body, but they can also be obtained from food sources. The body can make these amino acids itself:
Alanine
Asparagine
Aspartic acid
Cysteine
Glutamine
Glutamic acid/glutamate
Glycine
Proline
Serine
Tyrosine
The role of amino acids in the body
Amino acids play a number of important roles in the body. They are necessary for proper growth and development of tissues, help repair damaged tissue, and play a role in energy metabolism.
Amino acids also function as neurotransmitters – molecules that carry signals between nerve cells. Some amino acids even have antioxidant properties, meaning they can help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Amino acids are fascinating molecules that play an important role in the body's function. Although they are often associated with protein synthesis, amino acids also have many other functions. Next time you sit down to enjoy a meal, think about all the amazing things amino acids do for you!
Have you ever been so tired that you simply can’t move? Well, you’re not alone. In fact, fatigue is one of the most common complaints people have.
But what causes it, and more importantly – how can you fight it?
Here are some tips to help you feel more awake and energetic.
Take a closer look at these amazing amino acids!
Amino acids are essential for energy production and can help improve your mental state. Not least, they are the key to building muscles and keeping the body healthy overall.
So if you’re looking for a way to support brain and body function, add these powerful nutrients to your diet.
Citrulline is an amino acid that supports healthy blood flow, while tyrosine is a natural mood enhancer. Taurine is an amino acid that plays a role in energy production. And arginine is, of course, known for its ability to support healthy blood vessels and circulation.
L-arginine is an amino acid that has been shown to improve blood flow and oxygen delivery to muscles. This means more nutrients can reach your cells, leading to improved cell function.
L-citrulline is another amino acid that helps with the production of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is a molecule that helps blood vessels relax and expand, which can lead to increased blood flow and oxygen delivery.
L-tyrosine is a precursor to the neurotransmitter dopamine, meaning it can help improve mood and cognitive function. Tyrosine has also been shown to improve physical performance during times of stress.
Finally – L-taurine
This is an amino acid that has many benefits, including improved cardiovascular function, enhanced immune system, and reduced stress levels. It also helps improve athletic performance by reducing oxidative stress caused by exercise.
This powerful combination of ingredients is the perfect choice for anyone looking to improve their mind-body connection.
