QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What are vitamins B12 and B9 (folate)?
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) and vitamin B9 (folate) are essential, water-soluble B vitamins that play a key role in the production of red blood cells, the function of the nervous system, and normal DNA synthesis. Folate is especially important for pregnant women and for cell division processes in the body.
What are the symptoms of B12 and folate deficiency?
Deficiency of B12 and B9 can lead to fatigue, weakness, dizziness, memory problems and numbness in the hands and feet. Severe deficiency can result in megaloblastic anemia and neurological damage. B9 deficiency in pregnant women can increase the risk of neural tube defects in the fetus.
How can I get enough B12 and B9?
Good sources of vitamin B12 include meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. For folate, green leafy vegetables, beans, whole grains and citrus fruits are good sources. Both B12 and folate are also available in supplements – particularly useful for vegetarians, vegans and people with absorption problems.
Can you get too much B12 or B9?
Both B12 and folate are water-soluble vitamins, and excess is usually excreted in the urine. Serious side effects have rarely been reported from high intakes, but very high doses of folate over time should only be taken in consultation with a doctor, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions.
Why does the product have 1000 mcg of B12 when the recommended daily intake is only 2.5 mcg?
Vitamin B12 supplements often contain high doses because the body's ability to absorb B12 from supplements is limited. Only a small percentage is absorbed, and the rest is excreted. Therefore, supplements of 500–1000 µg are common.
Low absorption: When taking, for example, 500 µg of B12, only 1–2% is absorbed. The rest is excreted, which is why higher doses are needed to ensure effective absorption.
Safe in high doses: Vitamin B12 is safe in high doses because it is water-soluble and is not stored in large quantities in the body.
Varying needs: Some people have reduced absorption of B12 and B9, such as in gastrointestinal diseases (such as Crohn's or celiac disease), and therefore need higher doses to achieve normal levels.
Plant-based diet: Vegans and vegetarians are at increased risk of B12 deficiency, and supplementation is therefore highly recommended. Folate is more readily found in plant-based foods, but supplementation can be useful when the need is increased, such as during pregnancy.
Why choose our B12 product with natural methylcobalamin and cranberries?
Our supplement contains methylcobalamin – a natural and bioavailable form of B12 – as well as folate (B9) and Nordic cranberries to support absorption. This provides better effects than standard supplements and makes it suitable as a natural energy boost.
We do not recommend daily use all year round. Instead, use it as a "boost" during periods of low energy, difficulty concentrating, or when needed. If you have been diagnosed with a B12 or folate deficiency, the product can be used daily - with follow-up by a doctor and blood tests.
Why do you use xylitol?
We have chosen xylitol because it is natural, safe and well documented , with particularly good benefits for dental health. Our priority is always health, safety and quality.
What is xylitol?
Xylitol is a natural sugar alcohol found in small amounts in fruits and vegetables. It has been used for over 40 years in countries such as Finland, in chewing gum, lozenges and dental products – with very good results.
What health benefits does xylitol have?
Xylitol is particularly well-known for its caries-preventing properties . There are many studies showing that it can reduce cavities, improve oral health, and even help prevent ear infections. That's why it's recommended by the American Association of Dental Practitioners (AAPD), among others.
What about the new research linking xylitol to heart health?
The recently mentioned studies show a potential link between very high levels of xylitol in the blood and increased heart risk – but this does not apply to normal intake from chewing gum or supplements . The studies are observational and conducted on patient groups with existing risk factors.
At the same time, statistics show that Finland – one of the countries with the highest xylitol use – has had a sharp improvement in heart health in recent decades .
How much xylitol is in your products?
We use moderate amounts , well below the levels discussed in the new research. Our use is carefully considered and in line with recommended daily use in dental health and dietary supplements.

I struggled to find a clean B12 vitamine until i tried Aarja's Health B12+B9. I have taken it for 5 months now and my energy level is much better and my blood tests showed a very good B12 level (i had it low before). Im going to continue to hype all the Aarja's vitamines!!!!
God smak, lett og ta for store og små.
Riktig type B-vitamin, som er lett å ta opp i kroppen!
God smak, enkel å tygge. Bedre energi🤩
